About this project
The Evidencing Rural Need project provides the summary information needed to effectively represent rural issues in local and regional programme strategy, planning and prioritization. Developed by ACRE, its members in RCAN and Oxford Consultants for Social Inclusion, it shows the real socio-economic picture of rural England - its areas of deprivation, the economy and access to services.
Reports and analysis
This website holds reports at local area level for key issues of deprivation, the economy and services in rural areas. The reports cover a wide range of different geographies from small rural places to a range of larger geographies such as local authority, parliamentary constituencies and Local Enterprise Partnerships across England.
Help and resources
ACRE and the Rural Community Action Network have developed guidance and other resources to help you use the evidence on this website to support local rural working. The resources include video tutorials describing how to read the data and reports and policy influencing tips. We have also produced promotional material and case studies showing how the resource has been used.
